Paul Murphy, at the time with the President’s Foreign Intelligence Board, compiled this book to provide a comprehensive account of the development of the Soviet Air Forces since World War II. It is very much a snapshot of the point of view in the 1980s, with essays written mostly by leading defense department analysts.
Reina Pennington’s essay was written while she was serving in the Soviet branch of the Defense Intelligence Agency, and is largely based on her prior work with the Aggressors at the Air Force Fighter Weapons School.
